Anyone know where one can get women's, stylish, non stretch, 100% cotton denim jeans?
I hate spandex: its tight, it clings in the heat, it is unflattering. After 45 years of wearing jeans, they have stopped creating them out of 100 % cotton. I am praying that some one knows of some reasonably priced store has begun to make then again? Stylish, too??? Thank you...

Who sells 100% cotton denim jeans with NO spandex or lycra?
Has anyone noticed how hard it's becoming to find real cotton jeans for women?
I hate stretch jeans; they are hot, uncomfortable and do not breathe like real denim. They get bagged out after about two hours of wear. Plus, allergies to lycra, spandex and elastene are fairly common -- who in the world thought it was a good idea to add it to jeans?
Denim means 100% cotton, not cotton plus something else. The clothing manufacturers need to get over the stretch obsession, it's getting old.
I understand that some people like it. But for those who don't our options are slim, especially in boot-cut which I only will wear. Buying jeans has become a real hassle instead of fun like it used to be.
Any suggestions are welcome! (P.S. just checked out Levi's web site and they don't have a single pair non-stretch in boot cut.)
Try Arizona jean, I like them for myself and my wife seems to like them for her.
Ralph Lauren Brown Cargo Pants?
I have a pair of Polo Jeans Company (Ralph Lauren) brown cargo pants that I've owned for many years (4+). Unfortunately, when I was loading a stray dog into my car to take it to the vet, the pants ripped all down one side and I can't repair them. I've tried figuring out what specific line they're from, but all I have to go on is the tag. I'd love to replace these pants with another pair of the exact same kind, but I can't find them anywhere, even on eBay.
The information provided by the tag is as follows:
Polo Jeans Company
1967
Ralph Lauren
Original Denim Brand
100% Algodon Cotton
Made in Indonesia
RL 67 437
Originally Bought At: Macy's
Year Purchased: 2004-2005 (approximately).
I know it's a HUGE long-shot that they even exist anymore, and I know that they're probably discontinued as a clothing line, but it would be awesome if anyone has any information on this line or maybe a similar line that would work just as well?
Additional Information:
- women's pants
- "cargo" pants style
- they can be either "long pants" or rolled up and tied off into "capri" style pants (which is why I want to find this line or another very similar line)
- snap-close pockets
- front snapping pocket ~ easily fits a cell phone
- brown
Does anyone know what specific line these came from, or in the absence of that, do you know of another line that's very similar to these?
I suggest you contact the Ralph Lauren company and explain your predicament. They would at the very least suggest a pair that they currently sell, but perhaps they'll be moved by your commitment to their company and help you locate an identical pair or even try to repair it themselves. If you don't want to do that, try J.Crew for similar styles. Or: http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=382744&CategoryID=170
Need help with a closer for my essay ?
Im having writers block on what closer I should do for my essay on jeans :
Jeans were initially invented to help endure the long hours of work done on farms or workshops. As times progressed, and urbanization became more popular, jeans moved to the city. Society adopted them as a new sense of fashion and an ode' to the modern day working man.
The first pair of blue jeans were first invented by a man named Jacob Davis of Reno, Nevada in 1873. He was working in his shop when he discovered that he could make a durable pair of pants made of duck cloth (Also known as denim). You wear them by sliding your legs threw the two pant legs and buttoning them at the top. They were made originally made to help protect the legs and ankles on farms. He showed Levi Strauss, of Levi Strauss & Co, who supported his patient for the jeans. They were nicknamed jeans after the city of Genoa, where sailors wore blue cotton canvas.
There are many positive aspects of the blue jeans, as well as negative. For one, they jean material is very flexible, thick, and shielding which positively makes jeans very durable, comfortable, and protective. On the down side, it’s very hard to look individual in jeans considering how popular they are. Also, the jean material doesn’t stretch as much as, for example, spandex or nylon, so they are very easy to grow out of. Therefore, you’d have to spend a lot of money just to buy more jeans when you know longer fit into them.
Jeans have had a huge impact on our society. Today, they are one of the most common and fashionable articles of clothing. Many people from men to women, children to adults, etc. have been wearing them for over 100 years! It’s makes it nice to know that all groups of people feel equal knowing that we can all wear the same kind of pants. There are also different types of jeans like jean shorts, skinny jeans, bell bottoms, straight leg, boot cup, mini skirts, and Capris to help us feel more distinct then just wearing the same pair over and over.
I chose to do jeans because I really enjoy fashion. I’ve been wearing them ever since I was little and never knew of them anymore then just a pair of pants. Now, I know that their more then that. That men were the first to start wearing them and that they weren’t popular until the 50s. They’re just a really interesting thing to learn about.
can anynoe hellp ? id be much obliged [;
I corrected some of your mistakes, and completed the essay for you, basically by just rewriting things you had written and changing the order around. Jeans were initially invented to help endure the long hours of work on farms or in the mines and workshops. As times progressed, and urbanization became more widespread, jeans moved to the city. Society adopted them as a new sense of fashion and an ode to the modern day working man. The first pair of blue jeans was sewn by a tailor named Jacob Davis of Reno, Nevada in 1873. He was working in his shop when he discovered that he could make a durable pair of pants out of duck cloth (also known as denim), which had copper rivets to help strengthen the legs and ankles of the pants. He proposed that Levi Strauss, of Levi Strauss & Co, join him in patenting the trousers. They were nicknamed jeans after the city of Genoa, where sailors wore blue cotton canvas trousers. Jeans have had a huge impact on our society. Ever since the 1950s they have become one of the most universally popular and fashionable articles of clothing. Men, women, adults and children, rich and poor, all wear jeans. There are different types of jeans, such as jean shorts, skinny jeans, bell bottoms, straight leg, boot cup, and Capri jeans, which allow for more individuality. There are many positive aspects of blue jeans, as well as negative. For one, jean material is stretchy, thick, and shielding which makes jeans comfortable, durable, and protective. They are also relatively inexpensive to buy. On the other hand, it is very hard to retain one's individuality in jeans because they have become so common. I chose to write about jeans because I really enjoy fashion, and I have been wearing jeans ever since I was little. It is a comforting feeling to know that you can be accepted as an equal in various different social circles and societies all over the world by wearing a simple pair of jeans.
